Solana Luxury Wellness Retreat is a secret find. A stunning eco-luxury bamboo resort which opened only one year ago. The ten private villas are all unique, and I loved the natural feel of the resort’s layered stone wall features and the stunning high-set bamboo curved roof lines. Walking across the stepping stones to breakfast in the morning was a treat. And the views! You look out over sweeping views of the jungle and a waterfall.
The menu is very creative, and the food is next-level and super healthy. I was impressed with the generous portion-sized meals, and the presentation was well thought out – every plate was garnished with edible flowers and packed with nutrition. The innovative juice selection was a delight.
A prominent feature of the resort is the enormous bamboo yoga shala. Also, the villa’s unique natural fibre roof lines blend perfectly with the surrounding jungle. No two rooves are the same. The staff and service are impeccable, and every little detail is taken care of, including checking in privately by phone from the comfort of your villa.
I recommend ordering the floating bamboo breakfast. A first for me. Breakfast while languishing in the pool with expansive nature and a floating coffee! Everything floats – your fully cooked breakfast is served on a bamboo tray with flowers. Simply amazing! And the books – oh my gosh! I am a book lover and appreciated the carefully placed books around the resort, welcoming you to read at your leisure. I wanted to read all of them. A very expansive and unique collection of books on spirituality, yoga, philosophy, self-realisation, meditation and several sets of medicine cards.
Plenty to ignite the soul.
Also, to top it off, there is a complete massage service. The therapists are well-trained, and the spa menu is very extensive. I loved how this was offered from the comfort of my private villa, looking out over the jungle. What a combination – nature, superfoods, healthy juices, and daily yoga (if you wish). The resort offers peace and quiet and invites you to take time out and recharge. Located only 7 km from central Ubud in a calm oasis of luxury. A real gem – defined by attention to detail and service.
