Hotel Review
I am standing with my toes in the sand on a private beach in Nusa Dua.  The beautiful white sandy beach stretches out in front of me and the feeling of “being in Bali”, with the tropical balmy breezes and the relaxed beach vibe is ever-present. Sometimes we need a holiday where everything is taken care of and this is what you will find staying at this beautiful five-star resort in the heart of Nusa Dua.

The expansive tropical grounds include five hectares of playtime paradise pursuits like tennis, beach yoga, swimming (in an enormous pool), volleyball and the bonus daily water sports options will keep you as active and busy as you wish.  Why not take a Balinese cooking class, or learn how to make those magnificent fruit and vegetable carvings?  You can do everything or nothing and isn’t that what a resort stay is all about?

With a choice of four restaurants and two bars you are spoilt for choice when it comes to food.  I love eating at five star buffets and the sumptuous spread put on at this grand resort will most certainly satisfy as well as entice you to try new foods and explore an international array of culinary delights.

A major feature of the hotel is the beautifully appointed spa complex –Thalasso Bali. It is a spa facility like no other, with sixteen separate themed spa rooms and twenty-five spa staff.  Fancy a heavenly treatment with a touch of spice in the cinnamon room with a body wrap treatment and fresh cinnamon pods delicately positioned above you whilst you receive your treatment or maybe you would be tempted by an effusion shower back massage with warm seawater spray in the completely outfitted earthy cave room?

The blue romance room is great for couples or for something fruity and very exotic, try the almost edible banana leaf body wrap.

The highlight for me, after my massage treatment, was the aqua medic therapy pool, which is heated to 38 degrees and consists of 100% pure seawater.  The underwater massage beds are to die for and your instructor guides you through a circuit of exercise and massage, at stations positioned around the pool giving you an all-over body workout.

Allow three hours to really enjoy the experience of treatments at Thalasso, combining pressotherapy, aromatherapy, seaweed therapies and Javanese nutrition.

When it comes to entertainment the hotel provides a shuttle to the internationally acclaimed Devdan show, which is a spectacular dance performance that blends traditional Indonesian dance with aerial acrobatics and modern dance.  It is a spectacular showcase of Indonesian culture and takes you on a journey across Bali, Java, Sumatra, Borneo and Papua.  With acrobatics performing high above the stage using only silk material you will be spellbound as one minute it will be raining in Sumatra and the next minute warriors are battling in Java. The costumes are elaborate, the lighting and sets changes are dazzling and the aerial flying is beautifully done, especially the love scene.  Because the music ranges from hip-hop to traditional it is a show that appeals to all ages and is definitely a must-do when you visit Bali.

If you want a truly relaxing and easy holiday, including kids club, sport activities with all the facilities at hand, step into the world of the Grand Mirage, and you will find a little slice of five star heaven combining the beach, entertainment, pampering and time out.  A grand experience indeed.
